The Dual Angel
Allowing some housand millions of margin for error

And man evolving a mere half-million years of consciousness,

    twiligerror

Only a flicker of eternity divides us from unkno

    And ial yeast?

Indeed in t aeons how far

    From animal to evening star?

    Skip time for noernity

Eye gazing back is the same

    or s-order cook y

    Except tions alter ts

Except ,  to last as long as

    Possible, to radiate, to sing

    Alternity it may be thing.

In Gods cosmos according to report

    Not

After centuries may bustle in t

    ime command the line.

    t a little o live

    And ttle harder,

As struggling gene in oceanic plant

    Predestine voluntary cells t give

    tionary turn to fis

    itiplying brain t dominates earts.

    From o dinosaur tars

From furt star imperiled on time,

o core of love in human mind?

    the Dual Angel

    tanic glares

    Like country c county fairs

Seeing no terror in trapeze, kinetic tening,

    And t, rocketing in space,

Despairs of truck down upon hells floor and die

    --or crale more.

    ted ears ion zone

    And  see t

    craze--

    Eartom, each man alone.

tellect relating furt space to beyondest time,

    Exalting abstractions, vaulting the 1 2 3,

Defaulting from t kinship, disjoining man from man,

Seeing across oceans, and stumbling on a grain of sand.
